Philipp Stossier - WESS Managing Director: "We are hugely excited to announce the creation of the World Enduro Super Series. To us enduro means many things, but most importantly it represents the inclusion of competitors, diversity of events and terrain and a considered mix of authenticity and modernity - all elements that sit at the very heart of WESS. Enduro racers have always needed to have a very wide skill base - the great champions of the past have long combined speed, endurance, technical ability, determination and the willingness to rise to a new challenge. Irrespective of the event, these attributes will be required by all competitors in all WESS events. We're not reinventing the wheel, we're bringing together well-established enduro competitions, run the way they've always been run, on a larger communication platform to ensure enduro sports receives the focused global exposure it deserves. "

Winfried Kerschhaggl - WESS Series Manager: "We believe this is a key moment for enduro sport. Over the last decade, enduro has evolved hugely, resulting in many highly-popular stand-alone events but also an increasingly divided scene for competitors, the media and industry. The goal of the World Enduro Super Series is to establish a competitive enduro championship featuring all kinds of events - Hard Enduro, Classic, Cross Country and Beach Racing. WESS focuses on competition, the integration of amateurs and challenging events, where true enduro values are needed. Riders need to have a broad skill set is key.

We erkennen dat aanzienlijke en duurzame werk, visie, passie en vastberadenheid is wat grote gebeurtenissen verbindt. WESS 2018 will bring both well-established, decades old and very traditional races together with younger events that embrace a very different dynamic in terms of race format. Together with Beach Racing and Cross-Country these competitions all fall under the umbrella of modern day enduro. All are important and are united under the World Enduro Super Series. "

Gotland Grand National and the future!

The GMF-Speedway Club and FMCK-Gotland clubs and Nordic Sport & Event AB (NSE) have now reached a consensus on the way forward for GGN, with the best for the competition and for Gotland for the eyes.

The parties now agree after having shared opinions about the details of the future of the contest and how the agreement and other intermediaries will apply, they have now reached an agreement.

In short, the agreement means that NSE purchases and transfers the rights to GGN and its trademarks against a compensation agreed by the parties, and which the parties choose to keep confidential.

The parties have worked creatively and prestigiously to reach this agreement. Both sides have given and taken this work.

Claes Randlert, former chairman of the Organization Committee for GGN, said: "I am very pleased that we have now been able to agree. The disagreements have been a pretext for the planning of future competitions and have risked creating badwill around the competition. We wish NSE luck for the continuation of this fine competition, which I and the associations and its many hard-working members have had the pleasure of launching, developing and working actively for many years. "

Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event, is also very pleased with the agreement. Now our company can focus on the future and develop this contest into the future. When we can concentrate on the future, we will soon be able to tell you about the competition, status and how to proceed with GGN, "said Conny Bohlin.

In short, it will be possible to sign up for 2018's GGN.
